Post Wisdom Teeth Information

I got all mine pulled out this summer! I was very nervous but there is no need to be! They put an IV in my and I fell asleep as soon as i had the gas mask on. When I woke up I was in my car on the way home, after my mouth was a little sore, but it was numb for quite awhile because of the medicine. You’ll be fine!

You get fully knocked out!
And it’s super fun cuz they do this 10, 9, 8 countdown and you feel it hit you. And then when you wake up you feel like you’ve only been out like 5mins. (I had so much fun getting my wisdom teeth out!)
I was only swollen for 1-2 days. As long as you take your pain meds too you should be ok. I didn’t take any on day 4 cuz I felt so good but regretted it later when I went out of the house without them. But by day 5 I was feeling pretty good.
My dr cut mine in pieces before taking them out. It causes more trauma to the gums to yank them out in one piece so hopefully your dr does this too. I know of people who have had them pulled out whole and they have suffered more and for longer.
You should be un-swollen looking by day 5. Pretty sure I still looked ok when I went out on day 4 lol but I def didn’t look 100% by day 2 so hopefully you get yours done no later than the 17th just to be safe!

Don’t worry as much as I did. People had me freaking out with stories of how painful it’d be and it was nothing. Also you get to eat a lot of ice cream and yogurt and pudding

(I ALSO HATE getting jabbed in the gums omggg it’s actually the worst feeling ever and not even cuz it hurts much just UGHHH!!)

I’m really sorry about this, but my experience is:

When I got mine pulled they put injections into my gums. It made my face go numb but it still doesn’t block a fair portion of pain. You can’t feel movement, and you’ll not feel the tooth actually getting pulled but you’ll probably experience a lot of pressure. I was unfortunate in that they had to break my wisdom teeth to get them free. You’ll probably bleed a fair amount afterwards for a while as well as not being able to eat very comfortably for at least a week or two. Painkillers help. In regards to swelling, a lot of people do, but I didn’t, thankfully. But to be honest, the truly painful section was when they had to remove the stitching. OUCH!

Reading how these others got gassed up and had alright experiences, I’m not too pleased about what I had to go through!

I got put under and then surgery so i didn’t have shots in my gum while i was awake. I stayed at recovery for a while and then got moved to a room but that depends from hospital to hospital.
It is quite painfull but i asked if i could take xtra painkiller on top the ones i got( and i could) so after that it wasn’t so bad.
and you’ll probably will be (a little) swollen by the time it’s your b-day
it took me a solid two weeks to recover (so probs swollen at christmas too)
I don’t know how old you are but no alcohol while your on meds and you have to eat liquid food for a while
so i hope this was any help

Man, that s*it hurts like you wouldn’t believe, and your jaw will swell to the size of a cantaloupe. Just remember to take your pain pills as prescribed, even if it doesn’t hurt at the time. You’re gonna be high like Jimmy Hendrix man.

PAINFUL depending on how old you are. I waited until I was 24 to have all four pulled, they splintered on extraction, and I was out of work with infections for almost 6 weeks

If you’re about 15-18, not too bad.

I hd a oral surgon do mine. I remember him putting the needle in my arm ….next thing he was asking me was I ready to go home. No pain whats so ever. No other memories of it.
